Elementary Program
The Elementary Program
offers science, history, and challenge programs ranging from an afternoon of
study to a 5-day stay. Our
curriculum covers many
California State Science Standards, and it is
especially designed for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders.
With the help of the beautiful
Stanislaus
National Forest as our classroom,
our
naturalists use a hands-on, discovery-based approach to engage all learners.
We offer a variety of
day classes and evening activities at the SOS site, as well as a number of
exciting field trips. Students stay in dorms equipped with bathrooms and
showers, and eat in our dining hall.
Visiting teachers may
choose from a menu of classes and we will design a customized program to fit
your needs.
Please note:
Our day classes are all 3.5 hours now. Click here to see an explanation of
curriculum changes and our new schedule format. Talk
About Trees will now be scheduled before lunch on the day your school arrives
unless there is a field trip. Classes are designed for up to 30 students.
