Sierra Adventure Program Base Camp

The Sierra Adventure Program has a base camp at Sierra Outdoor School, where most of the classes take place. Our program begins with a short, one-mile hike into the base camp, using backpacks that are provided by the program. All personal clothing and gear are packed into the backpacks (we will provide you with a list). The base camp is vehicle accessible for students or adults who cannot hike in.

Everyone participating in the program stays in tent cabins with mattresses. All tents are equipped with lights and the chaperone tents have electrical outlets. Food is provided, but students are expected to help with cleanup. Daily showers are available in a shower trailer and portable toilets are located on site.

The Sierra Adventure Program base camp also has tables available for eating or instructional time, a campfire area, a classroom tent, and an awesome view all the way to the peaks near Lake Tahoe on a clear day!
